I have made pizzas before, as probably most people have. I don’t know if it is the same with everyone, but although pizza has made its way into my kitchen in several forms and many times, I have never gotten down to make a crust!
So, I thought it is time I get to it. I know Clint posted a recipe on the blog, so I just followed the instructions. Lo and behold, the dough rose and doubled in size, it tasted good and was right as you’d wish your crust to be. Which was a good thing, because I made a double batch so I can freeze some of the dough.
I planned on making a Hawaiian pizza, since we had some ham that needed to be used, but it turned out that the ham already went bad.
So I changed direction and decided to go down the vegetarian path. I had some broccoli in the freezer and some fresh tomatoes and asparagus. So this sealed the pizza’s fate. I have never had broccoli on a pizza before and I did not know how it will turn out. I just cut it in small pieces and decided to experiment with it.
The sauce was a simple marinara, nothing too fancy. It was not even made from scratch, we buy ours at Fresh and Easy, they do a pretty good job on theirs.
I covered it with mozzarella, some dried basil and aligned my cut vegetables on top and had fun with the decoration :D.
Your pizza looks soooo good! I like the change up of ingredients.
