Long time no see! It has been a tad hectic on my end, but I am peeping in the blog to write a review about a sparkling wine I tried recently, and that I particularly liked: Domaine Carneros – Brut Rosé 2013.
We visited the Domaine Carneros Winery for a tasting a while back, but we brought back one bottle our waiter/wine tasting person recommended. While all the other ones we tried were really good, this one stood out so we decided to bring back a bottle.
We were lucky to have a beautiful weather on the day we visited, so we could have our tasting on the terrace, and enjoy the sun and the view.
Domaine Carneros is a winery you cannot miss as you are driving to Sonoma. It stands on its own between vineyards and green, just a big castle against the blue sky.
We decided to have a full tasting experience and order cheese and charcuterie, and enjoy the array of wines that they offered in the tasting.
I don’t think this sparkling wine is sold in stores, as I remember it was a winery exclusive, but you can get it online. I will copy their description here:
Lush aromas of red berry and peach pie with a note of lime zest are followed on a round palate evoking plum, berries and a hint of spice. The wine will continue to develop depth and complexity as it ages, so consider cellaring a few bottles for the coming years.
